Edmarc’s medical social workers provide support and give families tools to cope during a very difficult time.
Parents face challenges ranging from burdensome finances, coping with work responsibilities, and remaining present for their children…all while balancing the complicated emotions that accompany a serious medical diagnosis.
Edmarc’s social workers are skilled advocates who can address a family’s concerns and help them achieve a consistent level of care, all while maximizing patient comfort through:
- counseling family members
- coordinating financial and supportive resources
- assisting with legacy-building activities and creating precious keepsakes
- helping with funeral planning
- providing individual and family support options for patients, parents, and siblings
Our support services team provides patients, parents, siblings, and other family members with the individualized support they need so they can focus on spending time together as a family.
Their compassion and expertise complement the clinical aspect of care for families, providing a holistic approach to the well-being of child and family.
Edmarc social workers are there, no matter the journey, to ensure the family doesn’t have to walk it alone.
Family Events
Edmarc also offers family events throughout the year such as spring fling, a summer picnic, and fall festival to increase families’ recreational opportunities and give them the chance to connect with other families who are in similar situations. During the holidays, Edmarc provides families with the extra support needed during a challenging time of year. Reaching out to deliver meals and gifts in a special way means the load becomes just a little lighter for those who are facing dark days during a festive time.
“Edmarc ensures the voice of the patient is always heard. I cannot envision a more natural way of advocating for our children.”
Cyrus Heydarian, M.D.
