Holidays bring families closer together
Edmarc strives to make the holidays as easy, stress-free, and enjoyable as possible through the support of our generous community.
The holidays should be a joyous ending to the year; however, for many Edmarc families, the holidays can also bring extra burdens and difficult memories. Edmarc, through community support, tries to ease any hardships that may come with the season so families can cherish the time together and focus on simply making memories.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Holiday Food
Sharing a meal as a family strengthens bonds while creating memories, especially around the holidays. Prepping for a feast, however, can require time and resources that families caring for sick children don’t always have.
This is why Edmarc delivers holiday meals in both November and December to families. From the turkey and dressing to sides and desserts, all of the fixings for a holiday spread are delivered to each family’s doorstep. Sponsors within the community shop for entire meals, leaving the families with only two tasks: cooking and enjoying.
Holiday Gifts
Heading to crowded stores during the holiday season with an immunocompromised child can be daunting. Shopping for gifts for your children when one of them is no longer with you can be heartbreaking. And finding time and energy to take the kids to visit Santa can be difficult. This is why Edmarc’s Santa Run is the highlight of the year.
Edmarc families fill out a wish list for every child living in the home, and sponsors shop to make these wishes come true. Once delivered to Edmarc, volunteers lovingly wrap and tag each present and carefully sort them into giant, handmade Santa bags. On the day of the Santa Run, the jolly old elf personally delivers the gifts with help from local fire, rescue, and police departments.
“When we were exhausted…and at our lowest point during the holidays, you showed up with food and gifts…There are no works to express the love and gratitude that I and my family have for you.”
