On June 2nd Edmarc was a part of Bayside Harley Davidson’s 80’s Bike Night. The event was free to the public; there was music, food, and giveaways! Proceeds from the event were donated to Edmarc. When it was all said and done we raised almost $700 to support our mission. Special thanks to Maurice Slaughter and everyone at Bayside Harley Davidson along with our awesome volunteers of The Bell Tree, Andrew and Janet for letting us be a part of this amazing event!
On June 6th The Miller Oil Foundation held their Annual Chairman’s Reception at the home of Gus and Deana Miller. Each year they partner with a local nonprofit to highlight their collaboration at the reception. This year, The Miller Oil Foundation chose to partner with Edmarc. Together we put together a fabulous silent auction and raised over $10,000! Our staff and volunteers had a chance to reconnect with some old friends and make so many new ones too! The fun did not stop there because on Tuesday, The Miller Oil Foundation held their Annual Golf Tournament. We truly appreciated our time together and were honored to have been chosen to partner with such an outstanding local Foundation that makes a huge difference in our community.
On Wednesday, staff joined our dear friends of the Naval Civilian Manager’s Association at Bid-A-Wee Golf Course for their Annual Brass and Wheel Tournament. The event went off without a hitch and a check was presented to Edmarc for $500!
The fun continued on June 12th when staff, families, and volunteers enjoyed Edmarc’s Annual Picnic sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Norfolk. Everyone had a chance to enjoy snow cones donated by Pelican Snowball’s, music by none other than the beautiful Amy Kaus, face painting, games, a bounce house, barbeque and water guns! It is safe to say, that our families will be talking about this for years to come! Thank you to everyone who made sure this event was successful!
Then we teed up again on June 13th for LPI Technical Annual Golf Tournament benefiting Edmarc. Our special thanks to John MacKenzie and the team at LPI for once again putting on a first class tournament!
Edmarc Board of Director, Vice President, Nancy King attended the Suffolk Business Women’s Annual Dinner at which time they presented a $6,000 check to support the good work of Edmarc. We give heartfelt thanks to all the members for this incredibly generous donation!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank long-time supports of The Violet Greco Foundation and the Richard Bennett Trust for their generous grants to support our programs! It is because of their unwavering efforts that we can continue providing end of life care to those in need. Heartfelt thanks to all!
The Yorktown Rotary held their Annual Edmarc family weekend. Two families enjoyed a weekend filled with food, fishing, games, and fun! We are blessed to have the Yorktown Rotary’s continued support! Thank you for helping making memories that will last a life-time!
We also had the privilege of thanking some important organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions in support of Edmarc. We give thanks to The Children’s Museum of Virginia, The City of Portsmouth and the International Facility Management Association for everything you have done to help support us in our work!
