What Happened at Edmarc in April 2015

It is hard to believe we are already finished with the month of April!  It has been another busy month here at Edmarc!  From golf tournaments to radio interviews, our staff has been hard at work spreading awareness for Edmarc’s mission!

We are very excited and believe that this year could be the best one yet! Our friends at 106.9 The Fox are our media sponsor, Debbie met with Arlo for a radio interview that will air 2 times before the festival!  The festival will be held on Mother’s Day weekend, May 9th and May 10th in Olde Towne Portsmouth along11159473_850950384977593_6585450778355185799_n High Street.  All proceeds benefit Edmarc. This festival is FREE to the public!  There truly is something for everyone: music from local musicians, art, a children’s area, food vendors, and the beautiful Olde Towne scenery!

On April 10th The Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International held their Annual Golf Tournament which benefited Edmarc.  Over $2,000 was raised to support our mission!  Special thanks to Butch, Ashley, and everyone else that helped make this event a success!

On April 11th Debbie spent the day with Dennis Elmer and everyone at Priority during their Annual Charity Bowl!  We are excited to Edmarc was selected as one of the charities Priority will be supporting this year!

As many of you know, Edmarc has a number of different interns from a variety of different Universities.  These students are working toward pursuing Bachelors and Master level 11110576_10153147213281469_4303347779717872378_odegrees in healthcare.  For the last year, Edmarc has been blessed to have Sonja Sharpe, a Norfolk State student working toward her MSW.  We are excited to say that Sonja graduated last weekend with her MSW!  Congratulations Sonja; we know wherever you go you will be amazing!  You made a huge difference in the lives of so many of our families!  Thank you for your hard work and dedication!!!

Special thanks to the Catalyst Effect Ignite Class in Newport News for raising $500 to support Edmarc’s mission!  Thank you for your love and support!

This year, the Hampton Roads Chapter of International Facility Management Association 20150428_113050(IFMA) and the @American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (ASHRAE) has adopted Edmarc as their charity! They performed duct leakage testing and will return over the next few weeks to make efficiency improvements to our systems; which will help Edmarc save money! We are eternally grateful to all the fine folks of IFMA and ASHRAE!

Did you know that Edmarc is a United Way agency?  Designate Edmarc during your companies United Way Campaign and your money will be used to support current programs!  Today, Edmarc cares for over 70 children in our clinical program; we could not do it if it were not for the support of individuals like you!
