Every child starts thinking of their letter to Santa long before Christmas ever gets here. Not many children actually get Santa to take a break from the North Pole and deliver them himself! Not through the chimney or window but knocking on the front door! The children and families of Edmarc got just such a surprise on Sunday, December 16th. Santa and Mrs. Claus and many of his elves came to each of their homes bearing gifts for the entire family. This year, Santa and Mrs. C once again arrived in style because of the generosity of the Hampton Roads Transit System (HRT). Santa, Mrs. Claus the elves ,and all of those gifts, were loaded up and away they went, visiting over 70 families from Virginia Beach to Yorktown. Nothing prepares you for this wonderful experience until you become a part of it. The kids are so excited to see Santa and his elves. For just a little while, sitting on Santa’s lap and opening just what they especially wanted for Christmas, all of the pain and illness is forgotten. As is the case every year, it took a huge volunteer effort to bring all of this together. The week before the holiday deliveries, over one hundred volunteers came in to wrap the gifts that were generously donated by community sponsors. Edmarc’s London House could have been mistaken, easily, for Santa’s workshop! A huge thank you goes out to the community sponsors
that made the gifts for our families possible.
