The staff at Edmarc has been hard at work over the last two months! The holidays were very busy and we have not slowed down throughout the month of January! We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who donated their time, goods, and services to make the holidays a special time for our families; none of this would have been possible without each and every one of you!
We had an overwhelming number of people and organizations provide gifts to Edmarc during the month of December. Special thanks to The Tidewater Chapter of the CPCU; The Hampton Roads Claims Association; and The Honorable Order of the Blue Goose, Tidewater Chapter for inviting us to your meetings in December. There were so many individuals that generously gave to Edmarc during the holiday season and we are eternally grateful to all. We would like to give an extra special thanks to Children’s Specialty Group, Elizabeth River Crossings, USAA Foundation, Deep Creek Ruritans, Bayshore Circle of the Kings Daughters, Monarch Bank, Portsmouth Rotary Club, Suntrust, and First Team Toyota for your generosity, love and support! All of you truly made a positive impact on the lives of the Edmarc families.
Once again, ABNB Federal Credit Union held their annual teddy bear drive throughout their branches. They delivered over 75 individualized teddy bears; each uniquely designed with their own personality. To top it off, they presented Edmarc with a check for $1,000! We appreciate all of you!
There were a few groups that even held Christmas parties benefiting Edmarc! Thanks to Standard Calibrations, Inc. for hosting their Christmas party and raising over $3,000 in monetary and gift in kind donations! You all are amazing! We even had a family raise money for Edmarc in lieu of gifts for one another and raised nearly $14,000!!!! The family wished to remain anonymous but, wanted to use to share their story. “Our family is healthy and happy; all we need for Christmas is to spend time together as a family, why not give money to an organization and help those in need?” What an awesome family and a great idea!
Cole Spencer Hilfiger Foundation held their annual golf tournament and raised $10,000 for Edmarc! Your entire family holds a special place in our hearts and we are grateful for everything you do for Edmarc!
Our dear friend, Ann Hupp of Mettle Events held their First Annual Tacky Sweater 5K in honor and loving memory of Diddie Ossi. The event was a HUGE success and despite the freezing temperatures; it was a great turnout! A check was presented to Edmarc for $1,571 plus a ton of wish list items! We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ann and her team for pulling off such a successful event. We cannot wait to sport our tacky sweaters and do it again in 2015!
The Real Estate Group held Morning at the Movies in December, their annual toy drive for Edmarc! The outcome was amazing and we were able to bring a moving truck filled with toys to help fill the wish lists for our families this Christmas! We are so thankful for all of the love and support The Real Estate Group has given Edmarc over the years…we can’t wait to work with you again! Check out the video of their event at https://www.realestategrp.com/company.php
SKW Contractors paid us a visit during the holidays and donated gift cards, wish list items, and food their staff collected for Edmarc! Without their support and the support of others in the community we would not have been able to fulfill wishes this holiday season!
Our Santa Run was held on December 14th; Santa, Mrs. Claus, and a team of elves helped deliver Christmas gifts to our families! Because of the generous support of so many in the community; we were able to provide Christmas gifts to over 90 families throughout Hampton Roads. It is hard to express how AWESOME you all are; the impact you had on the families and children of Edmarc is immeasurable! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!
We also held Christmas parties for our Edmarc families, our Mom’s and Dad’s Support Group & our Peace by Piece program. Special thanks to Deep Creek United Methodist Church, Suffolk Chick-Fil-A, Wesley & Nancy King, Western Branch Middle School, Monumental United Methodist Church, and all of the volunteers who donated their time and resources to ensure everyone had a great time!
Then on December 20th, volunteers delivered Christmas food baskets to our families! The baskets included; turkeys, hams, and all the fixings to make a delicious Christmas meal! Thanks to everyone that provided the food and donated their time to deliver these special baskets!
On December 23rd, a number of staff members of Monarch Mortgage volunteered their time and resources to build a much needed ramp for one of our patients, Brooke. Her family and the staff at Edmarc are truly grateful for everything you all did for them! The staff of Monarch Mortgage was so overwhelmed with the outcome they have formed a group and are officially calling themselves, Brooke’s Army, and will continue helping Edmarc families in need! We are so excited to work with you all and look forward to many great projects in the future!
