What’s Been Happening at Edmarc

Months of December and January

thornton (1)The end of the year is hectic for everyone but our staff and volunteers were very busy!  From company parties, family events, and fundraisers, every weekend was filled with holiday festivities all benefiting Edmarc!!!!

First and foremost we would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time during the holidays; volunteers created food baskets, wrapped gifts, decorated our office, delivered gifts, and even helped organize our office.  Each one of you means the world to us and it would be impossible for us to do our work without you!!!

Our Noblemen friends did a special holiday delivery for 10 of our Virginia Beach families again this year.  On December 10th 2 trolleys and over 100 merry men and women delivered Christmas gifts and food.  We are forever grateful for our dear Noblemen!  Thank you for all of your years of love and support!!

furcoDuring the month of December, our office transformed into Santa’s Workshop. This year, we provided Christmas to over 80 families throughout Hampton Roads; these families are either in our active clinical program or are newly bereaved.  We start in the summertime gathering wish lists and then local companies and individuals sponsor these families, and provide the items on each wish list.  Then on December 12th staff was accompanied by our local police departments, fire departments, Mr. & Mrs. Clause, and our amazing volunteers, to deliver gifts to our families!  The event was nothing short of SPECTACULAR!  We cannot thank everyone who helped pull off what was best described by our kids as THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!  We continue to be amazed by the generosity and outpour of love from our community!

So what would the holidays be without a holiday party or two?  We give special thanks to our dear friends of Deep Creek United Methodist Church for hosting our Annual Edmarc Holiday Party.  Your continued support means the world to us.  We also held a party for our Peace by Piece program.  This year, it was held at Monumental Methodist Church. Thank you to everyone who donated their time and resources to make these events extra special for all the kids and families.

EDMARC SANTA 20151_164Special thanks to the Virginia Beach Shag Club, SKW Constructors, Restore Church, and the Tidewater Chapter of the CPCU for inviting us to join their Annual Christmas events.  They were so much fun and were where honored to be a part of them!
