What Happened at Edmarc in September

All we can say is WOW!!  We continue to be amazed with our staff and volunteers and the amount of effort and energy they have; the month was jammed packed with fundraisers, special events, and speaking engagements.

And please remember to designate Edmarc during your United Way Campaign this year!!!

We would like to give special thanks to Q.E.D. Systems, Southern Auto Group, Virginia Beach Risk Management, SunTrust, and the Department of Corrections for inviting us to speak at their United Way and CVC Kick Off meetings!  We were honored to be a part of each of your important events!

Then on September 10th, Bayside Harley Davidson held their monthly bike night.  Edmarc was chosen as their charity partner for the event.  We are so thankful to our AMAZING volunteers who came out and worked the event.  Nearly $1,000 was raised to support our mission; we are truly thankful for Maurice, Rodney, and all of our Bayside Harley friends for including us in on the festivities!

copy-of-thorntonThe flurry of activities continued through Sunday.  Chuck Mukley and the Vocal Group, Fond Memories held a benefit for Edmarc at Oak Grove Baptist Church.   Our volunteers were out again, handing out Edmarc brochures and sharing the message of Edmarc.  The event raised nearly $5,000!!!  We were surprised and amazed at the generosity of everyone involved!  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We would like to also thank our friends of the Smithfield Rotary, The Real Estate Group, and Hampton Roads Academy for including Edmarc in on your meetings.  We LOVE having the opportunity to get out into the community                                                                                                            and sharing the good work of the agency.

We want you all to mark your calendars for Saturday, November 5th for the 4th Annual Hope Gala…A Night in Disguise.  It will be an evening of magic, music and masquerade and it will be held at the glorious Granby Theater.  For more information and to get your tickets, please visit our website at http://edmarc.org/edmarc-hope-gala/

cameron-1Last year, with the help from community members in Hampton Roads, 380 people (81 Edmarc families) enjoyed much brighter holidays than they would have had otherwise. Edmarc knows that when a family has a sick child, every day is special, but they look forward to making the holidays just a little extra special. This year we need your help more than ever before.  The number of children and families we care for is on the rise.  So get involved today, become a sponsor or volunteer! To sign up to volunteer or sponsor a family, please email Kristen at jonesk@edmarc.org.
